I did a walk!!!! Whoo-hoo!!

Hello!!

Sorry I've not been on for ages, well about a week, but feels like ages! I did go out for a walk last Tuesday, 3 miles in my lunch break and it took me a smidgen under 43 mins which I was really pleased with considering I haven't done any proper power walking since the last Moonwalk! I guess those dancing lessons are playing off!! Things to remember for my next walk:
Music!! (can't believe I forgot it!)
Warmer pants (very cold bottom!)
Steer clear of leafy pavements (very slippery!)
Hat! (to keep my ears warm!)

Bit of a nightmare on the Wednesday (the day after) though as I was struck down with what can only be described as 'bird-flu'!! Not the deadly disease but the lady version of 'man-flu'!!! Except I was really ill and not just trying to get sympathy for a cold!! lol!! Have been bed ridden and everything!... but back to work now and feeling much better! Still got a bit of a nasty cough so gonna get out walking again by the end of the week hopefully!!

Going offline now to go and do 50 sit ups - determined to get a flat tummy - and do my ironing - Whoops of joy!!!! (NOT!)

Speak soon!

Well, still not done any walking, how rubbish am I?!

Ok... right... tomorrow... definitely... I AM GOING OUT FOR  WALK, for once I've got nothing to do tomorrow other than a short 2 mile walk to get me started! Sunday was when I promised myself last time but then Hayden has the most horrendous cough so I decided to take him out for a treat to take his mind off it and we went bowling at Lakeside, t'was fab! But then got back at 12.30pm, thinking I could go out and got struck down with tummy cramps, arggghhhhh!! Today, I needed to go into town to check my bank balance (Yes, I know it's only the 3rd but I like to keep an eye on it, make sure I'm not overspending already before pay day in 22 days!!) but then I did do about 2 miles but just not at power walking pace BUT... I have done 50 sit ups tonight which I'm especially proud of... now my washing machine is beeping so I better go and hang all that up!!

Speak to you tomorrow, hopefully to tell all about my first power walk since my last, which to be fair was huge, 26.2 miles in May 2008!!! LOL!!!! I think I can safely say now I should get my butt into gear and get those walking shoes back on!!!

Raining AND a stinky cold - not good!

Hi,

Not feeling good today, have been bunged up now for a couple of days but I am feeling a bit more energetic today! It was absolutely freezing last night but still went out trick or treating, Hayden loved it but now we have an abundance of sweets in the house which I'm finding very hard to resist!!!

My Mum and Dad are coming round today for a cuppa which will be lovely and I need to go to Tesco as Hayden's back to school tomorrow and he needs lunch box stuff. I don't want too as it's chucking it down with rain though, might drive even though it's only a 10 minute walk!

Better dash, just had a nice hot bath so feeling a bit better and need to get dressed before Mum and Dad get here!!

Speak soon, hopefully to tell of my first proper training walk!!!

Tired, hungover and still not managed a walk yet!

Hello!

Long time, no speak, sorry been manic organising and trying to get people to my pampered Chef party, an important one this one as I want to get as many people interested in the stuff for a 'Ready Steady Cook' night which I'm hoping to organise as a fundraiser to get funds into our sponsorship pot!!!

Well, still not managed to do an official 'training walk' yet although I have walked into town everyday this week, which is about a 3 mile round trip, including shop visits but not at any great pace, it's still walking though!! But now I have hangover from my Pampered Chef party last night, quite a few came along but no one drank any of the alcohol so after everyone had gone home me and my neighbour, Sarah, managed to polished the lot off! Oh dear, an empty bottle of Baileys and three bottles of wine and a 4.30am bedtime is never a good idea when you have to get up for work at 7am!!! But, I still dragged myself into town for my 3 mile round trip and also to Tap dancing tonight and am over the moon as I finally have a dance partner for my Ballroom and latin class, which is great! My other half refuses to dance so I roped Drew, my hip hop/street dance teacher, into coming along next week!!

Should have a quite a bit of walking to do tomorrow, not that it'll be high speed but I have the day off, and taking Hayden to a little farm so I'll be getting my legs moving! Planning to get out on Sunday for a 4 mile walk, I have the route planned, just got to hope the other half isn't working and can stay in with Hayden!

Feeling tired and now hungry!!

Well, not having much luck loading the countdown and still not done any walking today. I did have good intentions to do some today but after not going to sleep until about 1am catching up with 'Heroes' (!!) and then my son not understanding the whole 'we get an extra hour in bed' waking me up at 7am (so 6am new time!) I feel exhausted today but having promised to take him out we went to Maccy D's, Reading Bowl (which he got his first ever strike without the use of the ramp!) and to the park... so I've done a bit of exercising and walking round the park in search of conkers, only to find that the park didn't have any conker trees!

Anyhoo... The Sunday roast is nearly done and I've packed my walking trainers for a brisk walk tomorrow lunch time, better pack my raincoat too if it's anything like today!

oo, dinner has just pinged, better go and help dish it up - I don't do the cooking, leave that to the hubby - he's much better at it than me! I just peel the spuds, make up the batter mixture and feed fudge (our bunny!) the peelings!!

Speak tomorrow, hopefully after my first successful bit of training!

My photo uploaded!!!

I'm back blogging again, is this the right term?... 'blogging'.. I guess it is?! haha... anyhoo, just wanted to relay my happiness at getting my picture to upload, not sure how I done it but it's there now so you all know what I look like in a disco ball bra.....Hmmmmm.... why was I trying to post this picture?!!! lol!

Still not started training as yet but been out cheering Hayden on at football this morning, he managed two goals, saved a couple and finally managed to tackle someone - yeah... BTW... he's 4yrs old... I'm so proud! Off out for the day somewhere tomorrow, might involve some walking but definitely not of the 'power' kind!

Note to self to sort out a team fundraising page and get some million mile socks!!!!

My Very First Blog!... How exciting!!!

Well, here goes, this is my first ever blog but not my first Moonwalk! I've been inspired my fellow members of the Moonwalk 2009 facebook group to start my own blog, who would have known I would ever understand what a 'blog' was!! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it though and being a graphic designer I'm sure I can figure out how to make it look a bit more snazzy!!!

So THE Moonwalk..... I've done it twice before, in 2007 and 2008!

I love The Moonwalk, it's a fab event for such a great cause. I got the bug when I done the Race For Life in 2006 to raise money for cancer sufferers, inspired by my mum and dads friend, Reg, who lost his battle with the big C just before my RFL... I had heard of the Moonwalk but never got as far as actually registering for it, but then in October 2006 I went for it, I decided that if Reg could do the battle he had done then the least I could do was walk a few miles to raise some cash!! And now that's it - I love it, I can't see myself ever not doing the moonwalk!! I may even volunteer as well as walk in 2009!!

My Brother, Sean, and my future sister-in-law, Caroline (who I Moonwalked with this year), will be volunteering on the night which I'm so happy about, it'll make such a difference knowing they are there cheering me on! Not that I'll be on my own, Marni, Sarah and her sister are all part of team 'BRA-vo babes' too!!! And then there's Kelly and her gang of 6 that'll be there too, hopefully we'll get the same start time and walk with them for the first 10 or so miles before they go off to finish their half moon leaving us to trek on!!!!

The night is completely unforgettable and I can't wait for Moonwalk 2009! The atmosphere is amazing and Nina's speech so moving, especially the moments silence when we remember why we're all there in a massive pink tent in our bras!... it's all for one thing, to help the sufferers and help stop future suffering of Breast Cancer, pure and simple... and what better way to raise money than to power walk 26.2 miles (the .2 is very important!!) in a bra, in the cold, at night!!

I'm already planning my bra too!... and yes, I know it's only October and I have got six and a half months before the big night.... but I'm too excited!!

In 2007 our team name was "The Breast of Friends" and I wanted to try and base the bra round the team name so I completly covered in pink and lilac flowers and butterflies!

In 2008 I went all out on the Roll 'n' Roll vs Bollywood theme... our Team Name was "Hot Titty Nights" and we went all out to make our bras look like two disco balls (all be it small ones!!) but it looked fab!! complete with bunches, a mini r'n'r skirt, pink warmers... the works!! I'll put up photos once I work out how to load them!!

So this year... well the team name is "BRA-vo Babes" and because of 'Bravo' I'm thinking cheerleaders/HSM theme??!!!.....

I have to say I'm not really out training yet, but I do go to dancing twice a week for 2 hours at a time and I have my little 4 year old to run around after!! I'm sure I will be out training soon though, need some of these million mile socks everyone is shouting about first though!!! I've had mine a while now and they have either shrunk or my feet are getting bigger as they take about half an hour to get on!!

I do need to get in shape though... I've piled on a few pounds since last May so I have started myself on a healthy eating regime.... which went well and truly out the window today as we went to Legoland, who could resist ice cream and pots of marshmallows?!!!!!! I'm sure I worked quite a bit of it off walking round there all day though???!

Right, as you can see I like to chat!!!!... sorry about that! if you're still reading then thanks (!!) and by all means click to follow my blog, I'll be back when I start that training and if I ever figure out how to get my photos up then I'll post a few along the way!

Good luck to all those ladies... and men... doing the 2009 Moonwalk!
